OZ Attacks!- Red Hill Trailer

Following the post on Animal Kingdom, here's another taste of the new wave of crime-thrillers from down-under. Red Hill is an ultimate gender-bender and blender: part neo-western, part crime-thriller, part social commentary with vicious moments of horror. A sensation at the Berlin and Edinburgh Film Festivals, It's the story of young constable Shane Cooper and his first day at work in small and highly conservative Australian town. When an Aboriginal murderer escapes, it triggers panic amongst the locals as he seeks revenge on those who put him in jail. But, as in every excellent crime-thriller, nothing is what it seems, corruption runs deep and twists keep coming . This new wave of Aussie films have a very revisionist character and goes deep into the hidden issues of Australian past and society. Nevertheless, he viewer is spared of preaching and sermons instead being treated to a great genre spectacle. For all of you who fought the Jonah Hex film would be the revival of westerns, forget about it and look this one up instead. The apparent villain even has a better facial scar game and is so brutal that he makes No Country for Old Men's Anton Chigurgh look like a Bible salesman.
