BanksyNY

The infamous Banksy has unveiled his latest street art project, an impromptu art gallery to take place on the very streets of New York City. He plans to put up new pieces over the course of October 2013, and will accompany his 'artist residency' with an audio guide to better explain his work. You can visit his project website under www.banksyny.com, where he has already uploaded his first piece. Notice the preface, which is a quote by the famous artist, Paul Cézanne; "All pictures inside, in the studio, will never be as good as those done outside."

EVERYWHERE

Everywhere is a short documentary about the work and the origin of the Toaster, an idea between 3 friends. Since 1999, the toaster has become an iconic symbol in the street art culture but as well it has made its appearance on music festivals, football stadiums and even bicycle races such as Tour de France. So take half an hour of your time today, or bookmark it for later, to watch this documentary of one of the first street art projects.

Edible Street Art

Shelley Miller
Shelley Miller Shelley Miller Shelley Miller
These decorative murals were done by a Montreal based artist, Shelley Miller, and what makes them extra special is that they were made using a interesting medium: cake icing. I wonder how they look after a few days when the icing starts to drip and melt off the wall. via.

Vermibus

Berlin based artist, Vermibus, has a very interesting way of transforming advertising posters from the street. Using solvents and brushes he mutates super-models on these fashion posters making them look like mummies or ghosts. While the end images might be creepy to some, the use of solvents to manipulate the ink is interesting. Anyways check out the video about his manipulation process above and check out his nightmarish paintings below.  Smiley face Smiley face Smiley face

Hennessy x Futura

After their successful collab with Kaws, Hennesy has decided to give it another go but this time they've decided to partner up with Futura to design their special collectors edition bottle. The exclusive box set comes with a numbered cognac bottle as well as the custome pair of Chuck Taylors sneakers. While the bottle/sneakers look cool what caught my attention more was the video. In this short clip they follow Futura around NYC as he talks about his graffiti background and his inspiration to think differently.
