With 4/20 falling on Easter Sunday this year, there's plenty of opportunity for some herbal celebration. As has become custom here at Afromullets, we give you our yearly 4/20 mix, curated by the talented Jvst Kin.

Mullet Mix 008 - Milo Mills

The latest Mullet Mix is by our man Milo Mills. Here’s what you need to know to get familiar. He’s a Vienna based multi-instrumentalist who has transitioned from playing music to the world of production. And it is this foundation that shines through in his output to date. Milo has taken on an autodidactic approach towards mastering new instruments one after another. If you’re stat-centric here’s a list: Drums? Check. Guitar? Sorted. Bass? You already know. And to round it up, throw in a little bit of piano that always comes in handy when producing.

Milo has been around from playing in a few bands to producing for a number of local artists. However, the turning point came in 2009. Inspired by the greatness of J Dilla and Pete Rock to name a few; his own production began to pack on more heat. And now after exploring a number of genres and styles, he’s found comfort in avoiding being pigeon-holed in one genre.

“I cannot limit myself to one genre only”, he says referring to his keen interest in all music and his passion to create music that draws on various influences that is appreciated by a broad spectrum of listeners. Milo’s production is constantly evolving and inspired by trends of the electronic music culture, yet touched with his unique style and influence.

After his successful remix of Janet Jackson’s: Rock With You, we were really excited to see what he is currently working on. His exclusive Mullet Mix consists mainly of “untitled/unreleased” tracks by the man himself. It’s a real treat to be able to have a taster of what may come out in the near future.



Hey Milo, for those that don’t know you, can you introduce yourself?
I am a young multi-genre producer from Vienna, Austria currently signed at Singapore-based indie label Darker than Wax

What do you want for Christmas?
I would like to have 26” rims for my Benzo.

What are your favorite Viennese acts?
My favorite producers from Vienna are salute and Mez. They are on some next level shit!

What 2 songs have been on rotation the most this week?
The new Childish Gambino tracks: Telegraphic Ave and 3005 are on heavy rotation at the moment!

What are you eating for dinner tonight?
Maybe some good home-cooked meal by my lovely wifey.

Any upcoming releases/collaborations?
Currently I’m working on my next EP. It’s going to be quite different from my latest release Paradise Soon. Also, I did a tune with 2008’s RedBull BeatSuite guest Amin Payne which will be released on one of his EPs soon.

You used to do vocals too, right?
Yeah, I used to do vocals; two of the tracks got played out on local radio for a couple of weeks, but at the moment I’m focusing on my production.

Heath Caring X Miguel

I am a sucker for chopped and screwed tracks, especially when it come to H3VTH CVR1NG's mixes. What I really enjoy about his mixes, excluding the fact that he is on top of the game with chopping and screwing, is that each mix is based on a specific theme making each of them unique. In the newest mix "KVLEIDOSCOPE DREVM" majority of the tracks heithcares chops & screws are off Miguel's r&b album "Kaleidoscope Dream" creating these dragged out dark sensual jams. The mix also contains some classic r&b tracks, a love theme from Top Gun and a Ghostface track, all of course put through xheathcaresx c&s filter. Make sure you listen to this mix and check out his earlier mixes over on his soundcloud which will take your breath away.

Stewiwonda at Camera Club

Two weeks ago we were hosting the second floor at Sexy Deutsch event. If you were unlucky and couldn't make it to Camera Club that Thursday, or if you just want to relive the good memories, we have something for you. This is another musical highlight from my day today. Joy Orbison has made a new mix for the Resident Advisor Podcast. You should all know about this producer who has provided us with great tracks such as Hyph Mngo,Sicko Cell,Ellipsis and this new banger.

. While it does start with the Jeremih's Fuck U All the Time this mix is made up of some great deep house and garage tunes, "capturing elements of how he plays at his residency meandyou". Anyways make sure to get the mix at RA or stream it down below.

Rinse turned 18 this year. To celebrate their birthday they are doing a 18 part video interviews with different artists that have shaped and influenced the UK music scene. In addition to this they are having two birthday parties next week in London and Manchester. One of the artists that will be performing at those events is Baauer. JJ DOOM Mix

While it might not be the best I've heard from MF DOOM, I still enjoyed the album. Here's some more of that home-grown we're releasing just days after fshstk's May Mix. This small mix is an ode to all producers out there making club music using gun shot sounds. While this type of production technique originally was/is found in hip-hop it is now becoming hugely prevalent in the bass scene thanks to the likes of producers such as Zomby, Hudson Mohawke and Rustie. Big up yourself and feel like a true G for twenty minutes.

Summer's approaching, my fellow Northern-hemispherians. It's time to stow away those jackets and bust out the boombox. As befits the occasion, I've put together a mini-mix for May. The instructions for listening are as follows:

Night Slugs head Bok Bok has recently released the inaugural mix for the NSMIX series which will be a series of mixes that will feature the various Night Slugs DJ's to showcase their talent and share their selections with the world wide web. Make Ups 2 Break Ups: A Valentines Day Double Mixtape

14th February. Valentines Day. Today is your day! Whether you are getting high on love fumes and getting pampered by your special someone or straight crying yourself to sleep tonight; we have just the thing for you. It may just be the best of both worlds. One is a musical dedication to the great highs of love and the other, it's painful hangover of sorrow and regret. Either way, one thing neither will be short of is the quality of the sounds carefully selected for your listening pleasure by Sofie and Jakob.

Make Ups:

This mix starts out mellow enough but gets relatively strange towards the end. Featuring tracks from artists like Knxwledge, Onra and Javelin to name a few; as well as a couple of weird joints (like a cassette radio recording of Hall & Oates). And some Two Inch Punch because what's a Valentine's Day Mix without a track off the 'Love You Up' Ep. Break Ups:

This one is a straight Soul mixtape as no other type of music can translate matters of the heart as Soul music can. There's no fancy mixing here as it's all about the stories of heartbreak that are being told. I don't think that there are many artists today that can spill their entire hearts out on a track. While 'break-up' is the one recurring theme throughout, it's still a really groovy mix to lounge to which is just a testament to what a great genre Soul is. DOWNLOAD MAKE UPS 2 BREAK UPS

Mix: Chillfuddha

I don't know more about this guy than his SoundCloud page tells me, which is that he's from Australia and his name is probably Bernie, alias 2FUDDHA. He doesn't seem to be in the business of making original stuff, but this mix is pretty sweet. Sadly, no track list.
