Event Alert: Afromullets meets Canyoudigit & Obey City
The Afromullets Soundsystem is back and will be heating up the dancefloor at Cafe Leopold on the 2nd of November for the Obey City show – hosted by Canyoudigit, who are known to always book some of the best acts, and most importantly throw a sick party.
Short introductions: Obey City (pronounced "oh-bee city") hails from Brooklyn, New York and is one of the co-founders of the Astro Nautico label, whose compilation series we have been huge fans of for some time. Obey City's first EP, Melted Magic (free download) was self-released on Astro Nautico and has most recently released Champagne Sounds on LuckyMe Recordings.
Come out and have a few with us as this is guaranteed to be a great night! Further DJ's to perform on the night: GVBBV (Vihanna), Kidcut (CYDI) while the Cafe will be hosted by Wiener Endorphine.

The SPBH 89+ was presented at the Serpentine Galleries during the 89+ Marathon on Saturday 19 October as part of an exciting programme featuring a new generation of artists from around the world.8 of Self Publish, Be Happy's staff (all born after 1989) have curated a slideshow of 89 photographs by 89 artists born in 1989 or after.The selection was made among Self Publish, Be Happy's community and via a call for submissions (on Facebook, Twitter and art colleges in UK).The SPBH 89+ is meant to capture the idiosyncratic spirit of SPBH's young community of image makers.

Today's Track: Shot You Down (Remix)
The newest member of TDE Isaiah Rashad teams up with two other label members (Jay Rock and Schoolboy Q) to do a remix of his 'Shot You Down' track. The beat is slightly changed compared to the original while Rashad's verse is the same. Jay Rock and Schoolboy Q are on point on their verses. While hip-hop is still sometimes seen as a "black" thing, race really isn't the issue that it used to be: these days, nobody bats an eyelash at white kids who identify with the subculture.

What inspired you to start your own label and what are the biggest lessons you've learned that you wish somebody would have told you before you got started?
I think it was the will to release music from artists I liked (and still like) at that moment and I'm proud that I have 7 releases from 8 producers now. A lesson? If you want it right, you have to do it yourself.

The infamous Banksy has unveiled his latest street art project, an impromptu art gallery to take place on the very streets of New York City. He plans to put up new pieces over the course of October 2013, and will accompany his 'artist residency' with an audio guide to better explain his work.
