Today's Track: Jasmine

Waited far too long for this. Jai Paul just released a new track called "Jasmine".

AUFERSTEHUNG - April 7th

Admittedly, it's not every day that we get to share very exciting news with you, dear reader - but today happens to be one of those days. We here at Afromullets are proud to announce that we will be performing as a collective in Vienna, on the 7th of April at Pratersauna - in the Glass House room. For those of you that are familiar with our blog and our creative output, you will be able to look forward to seeing our very own roster perform live:

... and for those of you who may be new to what we do on the musical side of things, you can expect the finest selections of minimal, post-dubstep, hip-hop and electronic music to not only satisfy your every tingling urge to shake the rump mother blessed you with - but to encourage you to. Feel free to indulge in some of the previews at the bottom for a pre-taste.

Furthermore, to make our very first performance as a collective even more memorable, we are currently working hard on producing brand new t-shirts which will be available for you to cop at the show - along with some fresh new stickers.

We hope to be able to welcome as many of you as possible to our first show, and look forward to partying with you!

XXYYXX

This is good. Produced by Orlando based, 16 year old, producer by the name of XXYYXX this reminds me a lot of Clams Casino or James Blake. If you are a fan of the new electronic music with tracks filled with chopped and pitched-shifted vocal samples, you are really going to enjoy this mixtape it. You can Stream the whole mixtape below or you can go on his bandcamp to download it.

Street Justice

I've been dying to post about this for the past few days now but was unable to come across a working internet connection. So this is what happened a few days ago as part of the aftermath of the shooting of Trayvon Martin:
Last night three racist monuments were attacked: Robert E Lee, Jefferson Davis, and the White League statue. The monuments were graffitied, respectively, with "For Trayvon Martin," "For Justin Sipp," and "For Wendell Allen" and splashed with paint. We mourn these young mens' deaths and strike out in retaliation against the system that brought them about. The system that celebrates slave owners and racist lynch mobs is the same system that exonerates killer cops and racist vigilantes. We want memorials to these fallen innocent youths, not to slave owners and racist mobs.

Today's Track: OFWGKTA "Oldie"

While on a photoshoot with Terry Richardson, the Odd Future crew put together this impromptu music video for their track 'Oldie' off their latest album The OF Tape Vol. 2. Great to see all the Odd Future guys on one track and let their individual styles shine through. Shot in one take, it's all about the music without the effects or corny gimmicks. OF is back.

Guardian Open Journalism: Three Little Pigs

Here's a really great advertisement for The Guardian that first aired on the 29th of February. I'll have to play my late pass on this one as I don't have space for a television under the rock that I currently live under. The ad follows the story of The Three Little Pigs and The Big Bad Wolf whose plight comes under the scrutiny of the media. Follow as the story unfolds as it is covered by The Guardian and how it is received by the twitter sphere. A fantastic take on an old fairy tale in the realm of new and social media.

Community is Back

Everyone's favourite show Community has started airing again after a mid-season hiatus and cancellation scare, and the new episode is just as weird and meta as the rest of 'em. Combined with the trailer published last week, the rest of the season is shaping up to be pretty cool.

Moscow - The Hyaline EP

The Hyaline EP (pronounced 'higher-lean' - meaning glassy, smooth or polished) ranges from melody soaked slow jams to crunked-up floor-fillers, and as such is a perfect addition to the Donky stable.
The third and final part of Donky Pitch's free EP series is out. Moscow, the latest recruit of Donky Pitch, has provided us with this awesome EP. Go on their bandcamp and make sure to download it.
